Castle Meadows Campus, Nottingham, UK
Project description/
Loads and thermal comfort study

Summary/
Castle Meadow Campus is a series of large office buildings located in Nottingham, UK. The Campus was originally constructed in 1994 with the original design by Hopkins Architects. The Campus was purchased by the University of Nottingham in 2022 and will be redeveloped to provide a new multifunctional estate that is local to Nottingham's city centre. Due to this redevelopment and the change of use for some of the spaces, the heating and cooling loads had to be recalculated as well as the levels of thermal comfort that the building is able to achieve, due to its increased occupant and equipment heat gains. Accurately modelling the shape of the canopy as well as the internal semi-open space was crucial so that accurate results could be produced.
